Beliefs

God

We believe that there is one God, Creator of all things, eternally existent in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Hebrews 11:3)

  • “Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone.” (Deut 6:4 NLT)

“By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.” (Hebrews 11:3 NLT)

Bible

We believe the Bible, Old and New Testament to be the only inspired and only infallible authoritative written Word of God and it is without error. (II Tim. 3:16; II Peter 1:21)

  • “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” (II Timothy 3:16 NLT)

“…No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.” (II Peter 1:21)

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, we believe His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles. That He was crucified on a cross, and is the perfect sacrifice for our sins. He was buried and arose bodily from the dead. He ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of God the Father, as our High Priest and Advocate and He will return again. We believe Jesus Christ is the only ground for salvation and is the only mediator between God and people (Matthew 3:16,17 NLT)

  • “After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.” (Matthew 3:16,17 NLT)

Holy Spirit

We believe there is one Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, that He is a gift the Lord Jesus Christ promised, who came from the Father, to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment;. He bears witness to the new birth. He empowers believers to live godly lives and equips them for works of service.(John 14: 16, 17, 26; 15:26; Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14)

  • “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. 26. But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. But I will send you the Advocate —the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me. (John 14: 16, 17, 26; 15:26 NLT)”

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[a] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19 NLT)”

“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. (II Corinthians 13:14 NLT)

The Human Race

We believe that all people are lost and guilty of sin. We believe God created Adam and Eve in His image, that when tempted by Satan they chose to disobey, bringing sin into the world. As human beings we are sinners by nature and by choice, separated from God and under His wrath. We believe that salvation is the gift of God, not by works, but by faith in Jesus Christ.

Response

We believe that God commands everyone everywhere to repent and to turn from their sins. It is only through God’s grace and in the atoning work of Jesus Christ that we can be rescued and reconciled to God. (Psalm 130:4; Jeremiah 36:3; Acts 13:38,39; Romans 5:1; I John 3:7; Revelation 19:8)

  • But you offer forgiveness, that we might learn to fear you. (Psalm 130:4 NLT)

Perhaps the people of Judah will repent when they hear again all the terrible things I have planned for them. Then I will be able to forgive their sins and wrongdoings. (Jeremiah 36:3)

Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. 39 Everyone who believes in him is declared right with God—something the law of Moses could never do. (Acts 13: 38-39)

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace[a] with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. (Romans 5:1)

Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. (1 John 3:7)

She has been given the finest of pure white linen to wear. For the fine linen represents the good deeds of God’s holy people. (Revelation 19:8)

Resurrection and Eternal Destiny

We believe in the resurrection of the dead, both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of life; and the lost to eternal damnation. (Psalm 9:17; Matthew 25:46; John 5: 28, 29; 14: 1-3; Romans 14: 10; I Corinthians 15: 10; Revelations 20:12, 13; 21:8)

  • The wicked will go down to the grave. This is the fate of all the nations who ignore God. (Psalm 9:17 NLT)

And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life. (Matthew 25:46 NLT)

Don’t be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God’s Son, and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to experience eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to experience judgment. (John 5: 28-29 NLT)

Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.  There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?   When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. (John 14:1-3 NLT)

So why do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believer? Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. (Romans 14:10 NLT)

But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me—and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace. (I Corinthians 15: 10 NLT)

I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books.  The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. (Revelations 20:12-13 NLT)

But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death. (Revelations 21:8)

The Church

We believe the true church are all who have been justified by God’s grace through faith alone in Christ alone. We are united by the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ, of which He is the Head. We believe in Water Baptism and the Lord’s Supper that though they are not a means of salvation, these ordinances confirm and nourish the believer. (John 17:11, 22, Romans 12;4-5, Galatians 3:28)

  •  Now I am departing from the world; they are staying in this world, but I am coming to you. Holy Father, you have given me your name;[a] now protect them by the power of your name so that they will be united just as we are. (John 17:11 NLT)

I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. (John 17:22 NLT)

Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. (Romans 12: 4-5)

There is no longer Jew or Gentile,[a] slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28)

Christian Living

We believe that God calls us to live holy lives, to love Him supremely and to serve others sacrificially. We are to have compassion toward the poor and justice for the oppressed. With God’s Word, and the Holy Spirit’s power, fervent prayer and the word of our testimony, we are to overcome the spiritual forces of evil. In obedience to Christ’s commission, we are to make disciples among all people, and to be a witness to the gospel in word and deed. (Hebrews 12:14, Philippians 4:8, Leviticus 20:7, I Peter 1:15)

  •  Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14 NLT)

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (Philippians 4:8 NLT)

So set yourselves apart to be holy, for I am the Lord your God. (Leviticus 20:7 NLT)

But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. (I Peter 1:15 NLT)

Christ’s Return

We believe in the personal, bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ, only God knows his return time. This blessed hope should motivates all believers to godly lives, sacrificial service, and win soul of His kingdom. (Daniel 7:13, 14; Matthew 24: 30, 31; Acts 1:11; I Thessalonians 4: 15-17; Revelation 22:2)

  • As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man[a] coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal—it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed. (Daniel 7:13-14 NLT)

And then at last, the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  And he will send out his angels with the mighty blast of a trumpet, and they will gather his chosen ones from all over the world—from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven. (Matthew 24:30-31 NLT)

“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!” (Acts 1:11 NLT)

We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. (I Thessalonians 4:15-17)

It flowed down the center of the main street. On each side of the river grew a tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, with a fresh crop each month. The leaves were used for medicine to heal the nations. (Revelation 22:2 NLT)
